FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

BOW THAYER TO RELEASE SPEND IT ALL
FEATURING THE LEGENDARY LEVON HELM

December 2006 - Bow Thayer's latest album, Spend it All , will be released January 16, 2007, (Crooked Root Records) and features the legendary Levon Helm on drums. Bow is a tried and true rural rocker with a country-side distinction whose career spans two decades and several genres, from bluegrass to 'newgrass' to punk rock.

Chronicling his life in Vermont, Spend It All picks up where last year's critically acclaimed releases, Maintenance For Mood Swings and The Driftwood Periodicals, left off. Bow's lyrics cut right to the core, infused with his trademark candor and tremendous wit, while his singing and playing have never sounded better -- driven by Levon's impeccable feel and heart and accompanied by an exceptional group of musicians including Nolan McKelvey on upright bass, Chris Coughlin on organ, Dave Rizzuti on pedal steel and electric guitar, Pete Weiss on Moog, Dana Colley on baritone sax, Damon Libert on fiddle, and backing vocals by Jennifer Kimball, Fukima Yamazaki and Steve Mayone.

A critic once wrote, "Bow Thayer simply cannot write a bad song." Spend It All offers 11 outstanding testimonials: from the brilliant swagger of the opening track "You Got My Attention," ("I never meant it even though I should have said it you really really meant a lot" and "I wrote the book on how to bring you down, then I made you read it,") and the autobiographical ballad "Wingless Angels" to the bluesy "That's The Way That It Swings" ("You know I was blindsided by that wrecking ball, well I'll be all right, I can live with that night, I'll just buy a one way ticket on that get over it flight") the wistful "10,000 Beer Cans" ("But I'm still searching, on that crazy whim, so I pick myself up, dust myself off, look at my hands and I look at my face, I'm wondering how did this all begin? and wait for them walls to cave in") culminating with the stunning and fragile "Jewel", Spend It All is another solid and stunning album of work from a brilliant and thankfully prolific artist.
